Buenos dias fellows!
This is a list of information I copied from our dA Journal with different interesting and less interesting information!
1. First thing that changed is the name of our "collaboration"!
There are several reasons for this (like nickname changes and stuff), but the most important one is that we're actually going to put our project up for sale when it's finished, so
we had to think about a proper name for our independent game development studio and because I'll be the one who is going to act as the director, I came up with a new name (lol)
The new name is.....(drumroll)........ Jamoke Games
And there is actually a good metaphor behind this:
Jamoke (Jamocha, "Jah-Mok") is basically just another word for Coffee and the simple idea behind this is that you can play our Games while having a nice cup of coffee,
like reading a good book (while drinking a cup of coffee) just slightly more interactive
Jamoke also can stand for homie/pal/buddy, what is kinda what we want to create, a game that challenges you, but is not to frustrating, like a good and honest pal can be!
Sadly there are also some negative things jamoke stands for, but we will only use these original meaning in connection with our studio!
Citation time:
"Jamoke is usually said to come from Java plus Mocha. When it first appeared, at the end of the nineteenth century, it literally meant coffee, and was sometimes written as Jamocha,
which makes the origin a bit clearer (despite the coffee associations, linguists would say that the word is a clipped compound, not a blend …).
An example, from a book called Gay-Cat of 1922: “There ain’t nothing stronger in the booze line than pure alky mixed with jamocha”."
Because of the java+Mocha thing, I am thinking about some kind of...mascots?
Well, we will see
2. We're a bit more organized now and don't need to be at the same place the whole time as long as we're working on everything.
While I've now the position of the game compositor and programmer and working on the plot, Sophie is now the Art Director and is coordinating all the Art-stuff (what is obviously a lot,
because it's a 2D hand drawn P&C Adventure, without any 3D graphics or backgrounds)
Of course we're still helping each other with everything and so on, but we can now do a lot of things on our own!
3. The plot changed a lot more than we thought it would, but in a good way!
Everything is a bit more mature now, still with a lot of humor and wicked things happening of course!
Aaaaaaand ....(drumroll again).... Noid became the main protagonist! whoooo!
4. The only things we are going to submit here from now on are wallpapers, little animations and posting links to teasers, trailers and everything!
5. There are going to be several other "places" where you can find us, like Facebook, Twitter or Youtube (even if I hate F***book and Twitter a lot personally) and we are going to have a proper blog (more individual)
and a website in future.
6. We're always looking for people who want to help/support/collaborate with/work for/etc. us.
So if you have proper drawing/programming/developing/voice acting/music/etc. skills don't be shy and send a note or an E-Mail!
And if you just interested in helping us getting "noticed"...well...tell all your friends about our project, okay?
Because conversational viral marketing is a pretty powerful weapon for independent game developers like us, so to speak
Woh...I wrote more than I planned to, but that's fine I guess?
but that's it for now!
have a nice day!
